The Desert Wheatear Bird (Oenanthe Deserti) is a wheatear, a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family Turdidae, but is now more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae). It is a migratory insectivorous species, 14.5 to 15 cm (5.7 to 5.9 in) in length.
On 1st March in Dombivali city, Desert Wheatear, a rare bird in South Africa, has been found in Bhopar village of Dombivli. Bird watcher and nutritionist Dr. Mahesh Patil has managed to capture this handsome party in his camera.

As usual Dr. Mahesh Patil was walking in Bhopar village. At that time, he noticed this rare bird. The well-known Sahara Desert of South Africa is the native habitat of this very agile Desert Wheatear group. From this place, this Rangoja (Desert Wheatear) bird has come to Dombivli after covering a distance of 5 thousand kilometers. Interestingly, its shape and color is similar to our Chimney. Every year during the winter days, this tiny but equally strong bird enters India by crossing a distance of thousands of kilometers, bird watcher Dr. Mahesh Patil told LNN.

Generally, Rangoja (Desert Wheatear) stays with us till the end of March and after that, this bird once again takes an eagle leap (there is no other proper word except eagle leap due to the distance it cuts due to its small size) towards its original place. Mahesh Patil said.
